Role Overview
Chelsea FC is looking for a Creative Operations Executive to join our Commercial Marketing team. Sitting at the intersection of Design and Marketing, this role keeps our creative output moving quickly and consistently, turning approved campaign templates into the many versions needed for different audiences and channels.
The role supports a broad range of commercial and marketing activity across the club, giving plenty of variety day to day.
You'll be a close partner to the Design team, drawing on shared image libraries and templates to produce polished creative variations at speed, before getting those assets in front of the wider marketing teams who need them. Over time, you'll also help strengthen how we create, adapt, and deliver campaign assets across different channels.
It's a great fit for someone who enjoys fast-paced, detail-driven production work, is naturally curious about design and marketing, and thrives when juggling a high volume of requests without letting quality slip.
Key Responsibilities
- Creative Swaps & Templated Production: Own execution of creative swaps and updates, producing multiple on-brand variations of creative from approved templates to meet the needs of different campaigns, audiences, and channels.
- Design Team Partnership: Work closely with the Design team to ensure a well-organised, up-to-date library of images and brand assets is available for use, and that a clear, usable template is created and maintained for each initiative.
- Commercial Marketing Partnership: Partner with key product marketers across the marketing function to understand campaign needs and support the production of creative asset variations across the business.
- Supplementary Creative Support: Help source, adapt, and prepare supporting imagery or creative components where bespoke photography or design assets aren't available or practical.
- Asset Distribution & Socialisation: Distribute and socialise finished creative assets to the relevant marketing teams, ensuring the right people have the right assets, in the right format, at the right time.
- Cross-Channel Collaboration & Feedback: Work closely with colleagues across the wider marketing function to gather feedback on creative performance and best practice, feeding learnings back into future templates and ways of working.
- Quality Control & Brand Consistency: Check all assigned creative variations against brand guidelines before distribution, flagging any issues or inconsistencies to the Design team.
- Process & Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline the creative swap process, helping the team produce a higher volume of high-quality variations more efficiently.
- Campaign Delivery Support: Support the wider team with campaign set-up, asset coordination, and implementation requirements as the role develops.
- Flexibility & Department Support: Provide occasional weekend support in line with business needs, along with general administrative tasks to support the wider department.
Skills & Experience
- Experience: Demonstrable experience in a creative operations, creative production, design, or traffic-focused role, ideally within marketing, sports, entertainment, or a fast-paced in-house creative team.
- Design & Production Tools: Confident working with creative templates and production workflows; familiarity with common design tools is beneficial.
- Creative Adaptation: Comfortable adapting existing creative assets and templates for different audiences, formats, and campaign needs.
- Marketing Creative Workflows: Familiarity with marketing creative processes, template-led production, and asset management ways of working.
- Paid Media Understanding: A working understanding of paid media platforms and their creative specs and formats (e.g. social, display, programmatic).
- Owned & CRM Channels: Understanding of Owned channel formats (web, app, social) and CRM/email creative requirements and best practice.
- Digital Campaign Delivery (Nice to Have): Understanding of how creative assets are adapted and delivered across digital marketing channels is beneficial.
- Implementation Support (Nice to Have): Exposure to campaign delivery processes, including preparing assets for handover or launch, is an advantage.
- Collaboration: A strong communicator who is comfortable working closely with Design, Marketing, CRM, and Paid Media teams, and who can take on and apply feedback constructively.
- Organisation & Pace: Highly organised with the ability to manage a high volume of creative requests and rapid turnarounds simultaneously, without compromising on quality.
- Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for brand consistency, quality control, and spotting errors before assets go live.
Our Expectations:
- To embody the club’s BLUE behaviours (Brave, Lead, Unity, Edge) in the approach to work and interaction with others
- To adhere to the club’s policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Financial Authorisation, Confidentiality and GDPR.
- To act as an ambassador for diversity, equality, and inclusion, and demonstrate a positive commitment by treating others fairly in line with our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy and reporting any acts of discrimination through appropriate channels
- To create a safe environment and act to protect all young people and vulnerable adults that are either in your care or attending club premises, and report any concerns to the Safeguarding Lead
- To report any misconduct or suspected misconduct to the HR Department.
