Additional hours available for conferences and events.
Shifts will vary depending on fixture schedules and event requirements.
Location : Sheffield Wednesday Football Club , Hillsborough S6 1SW Salary: National Living Wage - currently £12.71 per hour.
OVERALL, PURPOSE OF JOB
To support the delivery of high -quality food and beverage services across the football club's hospitality areas, kiosks, bars, lounges, and event spaces. The Catering Assistant will help ensure an excellent customer experience while maintaining high standa rds of food hygiene, cleanliness, and health and safety.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic football stadium and events environment, contributing to memorable experiences for supporters, guests, and clients.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION – TASK RELATED
Main Duties:
Food & Beverage Service
- Serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of food and drink items.
- Replenish food displays, counters, and service areas as required.
- Process customer orders and operate till systems where required.
Customer Service
- Provide a welcoming and positive experience for supporters, guests, players, staff, and visitors.
- Respond to customer enquiries professionally and courteously.
- Resolve minor customer concerns or refer them to a supervisor when necessary.
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and conduct.
- Cleaning & Hygiene
- Maintain cleanliness in catering areas, kitchens, kiosks, bars, hospitality suites, and storage areas.
- Follow food safety, allergen awareness, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Wash utensils, equipment, and service items as required.
- Dispose of waste appropriately and support recycling initiatives.
Match Day & Event Support
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of catering areas before and after matches and events.
- Support hospitality functions, conferences, banquets, and private events hosted by the club.

- Work effectively during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery.
Health & Safety
- Comply with all club policies, food hygiene regulations, and health and safety procedures.
- Report hazards, accidents, or equipment issues promptly.
- Use catering equipment safely and in accordance with training provided.
Other Duties
- Adhere to SWFC policies and procedures.
- To professionally represent SWFC at all times.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the grade that may be required from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :
Essential :
- Customer service experience .
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and match days.
Desirable :
- Previous experience in catering, hospitality, retail, bar or food service.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate.
- Till operation experience.
- Experience working in a stadium, sports venue, or large events environment.
