OVERALL, PURPOSE OF JOB
The Marketing Manager will lead the delivery of Sheffield Wednesday’s marketing activity, developing integrated campaigns that grow the club’s supporter base, strengthen fan engagement and drive commercial revenue. Reporting to the Brand Director, the role will oversee marketing across key business areas, lead the club’s CRM strategy and work collaboratively across departments to deliver outstanding supporter experiences.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION – TASK RELATED
Main Duties:
- Lead the delivery of the club’s marketing strategy, aligned to commercial, brand and fan engagement objectives.
- Develop and deliver integrated marketing campaigns across key commercial products, including season tickets, memberships, retail, premium experiences and major club initiatives.
- Drive supporter acquisition, engagement and retention through data -led marketing activity, growing the club’s local, national and international supporter base.
- Collaborate closely with the club’s communications and digital team to ensure activity and campaigns deliver high impact across owned and operated platforms, including social and web.
- Lead the club’s CRM and email marketing functions, delivering personalised campaigns and ensuring supporter data is effectively managed and utilised.
- Manage the marketing budget, campaign performance and reporting, using insight and analytics to optimise commercial outcomes.
- Lead and develop the club’s marketing team, including the creative design and fan engagement function, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Manage external agencies and suppliers, ensuring high -quality delivery and return on investment.
- Work closely with HR around people management responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING & REQUIRMENTS:
Essential:
- A degree in Marketing, Communications , Business or an equivalent professional qualification relating to the role.
Desirable :
- Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or equivalent qualifications are highly advantageo us.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience in a marketing role, ideally within professional sport.
- Proven track record of delivering campaigns that drive audience growth and revenue.
- Strong understanding of customer data, segmentation, and targeted communication.
- Experience in building and leading a small and high -performing team, and the ability to allocate tasks effectively to ensure best use of time across the department.
- Ability to work cross -functionally with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Excellent project management and campaign tracking skills, with a focus on using data to inform decisions and measure impact.
