About AFC Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon is one of English football's most unique clubs. Proudly owned by its fans and members, the Club has an extraordinary story of resilience and progression since its reformation in 2002, with a strong identity built around togetherness, continuous improvement, and community.
The Club's return to Plough Lane and the development of the 9,000-capacity Cherry Red Records Stadium have created significant opportunities for commercial growth. Beyond men's and women's football, the stadium hosts major sporting fixtures, corporate events and entertainment, providing a platform to reach new audiences and generate revenue throughout the year.
With an established commercial foundation and ambitious plans for the future, AFC Wimbledon is looking for a Director of Revenue to lead its next phase of growth, maximising the potential of the Club and its stadium while remaining true to its supporter-owned identity.
The Impact You'll Make
As Director of Revenue, you will play a central role in shaping AFC Wimbledon's commercial future, leading the strategy and delivery across all major revenue streams, including ticketing, membership, retail, partnerships, hospitality, stadium hires and events. You will also oversee the commercial aspects of the club’s catering offering, delivered in partnership with Aramark UK.
Reporting to the Managing Director and joining the senior leadership team, you will have significant autonomy to develop new commercial opportunities, improve stadium utilisation and strengthen performance across the Club's existing revenue-generating activities.
This is a strategic but hands-on leadership role, combining commercial ambition with strong financial judgement and operational delivery. You will lead a team of departmental specialists, bringing greater coordination across the revenue function and delivering sustainable growth while protecting the supporter experience and the values that make AFC Wimbledon unique.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an integrated revenue strategy, translating the Club's ambitions into clear commercial plans, targets and measurable outcomes.
- Lead commercial performance across ticketing, membership, retail, partnerships, hospitality, stadium hire and major events.
- Maximise the commercial potential of the Cherry Red Records Stadium, growing matchday and non-matchday income through new events, venue hire and commercial opportunities.
- Lead the Club's commercial partnership strategy, identifying new opportunities, strengthening existing relationships and supporting major negotiations and renewals.
- Review pricing, products, packaging and propositions to improve returns.
- Drive a more joined-up approach to audience growth, relationship development and retention, maximising opportunities across the Club's supporter, hospitality and commercial activities.
- Champion the use of insight, data, CRM and technology to improve commercial decision-making and performance.
- Take responsibility for commercial profitability, working closely with the Director of Finance to manage revenue, margins, budgets and forecasts.
- Lead and develop departmental heads, creating a collaborative, accountable and high-performing revenue function.
- Work closely with senior leadership, the Board and stakeholders across the Club to ensure commercial activity supports wider organisational ambitions.
Your Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a senior commercial or revenue leadership role, with a track record of delivering measurable growth across multiple revenue streams.
- Strong experience developing and implementing commercial strategies, budgets and performance targets.
- Excellent financial and analytical skills, with the ability to translate commercial insight into effective decisions.
- Strong digital and systems fluency, including CRM platforms. We require someone who is passionate about using data, technology and integrated systems to improve supporter engagement, strengthen commercial relationships and drive revenue growth for the Club and its partners.
- Experience leading and developing senior managers or departmental heads. Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Commercially creative, with the ability to identify new opportunities and maximise the value of existing assets.
- A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, comfortable leading at senior level while remaining close to delivery.
